- Minimum 5 years Managing a child care program including curriculum development, classroom and teacher management, and responsibility for regulatory compliance (Required)
- Solid working knowledge of early childhood education, as well as related policy and regulatory compliance requirements (Required)
- Solid inter-personal and managerial skills, service orientation, ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, challenging environment, judgment and decision-making, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to resolve problems, and highly effective verbal and written communication skills. (Required)
- Knowledge and understanding of basic research techniques and theories pertaining to child development (Required)
- Skill in planning curriculum for children ages 2 months to 5 years, apply early childhood theory and approaches to classroom teaching (Required)
- Ability to gather, present and interpret resources and content for staff meetings, teacher trainings and parent conferences to interpret child's development and cognitive progress (Required)
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff including teachers, campus colleagues, faculty, parents, supervisors, and children and organize and utilize community resources (Required)
- Ability to prepare, monitor and administer budgets and manage curriculum materials and equipment for classroom use (Required)
- Intermediate computer application skills. (Required)
- Knowledge of applicable Title 5 (State of California) and Title 22 (licensing) regulations, and accreditation requirement of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) (Required)
- Must test TB negative and have health screening clearance. (Required)
- Passes FBI and DOJ criminal check with approval from Dept. of Social Services. (Required)
- Certified in pediatric CPR and first aid (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree Child Development or in related field (Required)
- Minimum of 3 units infant-toddler coursework (Preferred)
- CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing - Program Director Permit (Required)
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
- Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
- TB Test: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory TB test.
- Tdap Pertussis Vaccine: The position is subject to providing evidence of inoculation within 10 years.
- CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
