    Description

    Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Middle School Mathematics Teacher for the academic year. Our dynamic and collegial Mathematics Department is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and empowering all of our students to think critically by fostering extensive mathematics competencies. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and committed teacher who exhibits high levels of professionalism and has extensive knowledge and practice in constructivist teaching methods, varied assessment techniques, and student-centered, interdisciplinary pedagogy.     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Teaching:

    • Teach a total of four sections of middle school mathematics
    • Work with students on an individual basis, as need be
    • Keep an accurate and up-to-date online gradebook, effectively and supportively communicate with students and families, and provide thoughtful written and oral feedback on student progress consistently throughout the school year
    • Work collaboratively with teaching teams to create innovative instructional materials that engage and challenge all students in mathematical thinking and discourse

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Serve as an advisor to a group of 7-10 students
    • Co-advise a club or activity and engage in supervision duties as necessary
    • Demonstrate energetic commitment to professional development
    • Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to departmental, committee, divisional and grade-level meeting
    • Attend community events throughout the school year

    Salary Range: $71,563 - $98,915

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related disciplines; master's degree preferred

    Experience: Two years of related teaching experience in middle school mathematics

    Requirement: All employees must be fully vaccinated and show proof of their full COVID 19 vaccination.
