Job Posting for a full-time position: Mathematics Teacher at Saint Joseph High School, Metuchen, New Jersey
Saint Joseph High School, owned and operated by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, is a private, Catholic all-boys college preparatory school looking for a talented individual to take on the role of full-time Mathematics Teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a disciplined classroom culture in which students enjoy learning Mathematics, think critically about course material, and assume ownership over their own learning
- Use a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments to ensure that students are engaged
- Integrate technology in the classroom in an engaging and meaningful way
- Work directly with school leaders and other school personnel in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum
- Developing strong relationships with parents and students, creating investment in school culture and academics
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in the field
- New Jersey State Teaching Certification is preferred
- Experience with: Google Classroom, Delta Math, and Desmos is preferred
- Ability to instruct the fundamentals and features of graphing calculators (TI83 or TI84) is preferred
- Experience teaching Precalculus and higher levels of Math is preferred
- Experience teaching Statistics, AP Calculus AB or BC is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills
- Experience teaching high school students is preferred
