    About the Roots Fund:

    Created to empower BIPOC in the wine industry by providing resources and financial support, through educational scholarships, wine education, mentorship, and job placement. The Roots Fund is committed to investing in communities of color in wine to provide opportunities to those seeking a career or education in all aspects of wine.

    Finance Associate: TRF Bookkeeper $20.00p/hr (7-10 hrs per week, excluding tax time)

    • Match monthly QB transactions-
    • manually enter missing transactions,
    • manage and set up manual and automated invoices,
    • receive payments (Mark QB invoices/pledges as received for corresponding check or ACH)
    • generate financial reports
    • Manually Issue donation receipts for goods and monetary donations when necessary
    • Communicate donation processes
    • Check all quarterly taxes, follow up on discrepancies, questions, concerns
    • Track tax-related documentation (exempt tax certificates)
    • Manage online donation platforms including creating events, auctions, and other campaigns as needed. (givebutter, give lively, stripe)
    • Communicate reimbursement process to scholars and staff as needed, review expense reports, Issue scholar grants, and reimbursements as needed
    • Make rent/office payments
    • Distribute accounts payable invoices/receipts to an appropriate team member (some payments are associated with the accounting email that must be forwarded or pulled from that database)
    • Review status with the secretary of state on a bi-annual basis
    • Must be available for weekly finance meetings with CEO and treasurer
    • Must be able to present finance updates via zoom on a monthly basis as needed
    • Maintain donation links on different platforms

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage financial SOPS
    • Clear monthly expenses in QuickBooks every week
    • Manage all aspects of Quickbooks
    • Check quarterly taxes
    • Track company travel/programming via a spreadsheet
    • Prepare any documents for month-end
    • File all financial-related mail after it is scanned
    • Manage Fyle, expense reports, reporting, etc
    • Review and file payroll reports

    *The Finance Associate maintains daily financial responsibilities. They prep for the accounting firm that oversees all financial processes.
