GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Finance Associate will assume responsibility for various daily finance and payroll-related accounting activities, including processing semi-monthly payroll, managing accounts payable and receivable, overseeing payroll allocations, inputting general ledger entries, reconciling bank and credit card statements, facilitating new hire onboarding, and generating comprehensive reports.

The incumbent will support the Finance Department's efforts to meet all requisite accounting and government standards, aligning with the agency's overarching objectives and mission.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Verify figures, postings, and documents for accuracy in data entry, mathematical precision, and correct coding.
  • Receive, record, and manage cash, checks, and vouchers.
  • Conduct various financial calculations, including amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, and principal.
  • Execute general office tasks, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Compile data from bank accounts, verify and balance receipts, and process bank deposits, directing payments to vendors.
  • Complete and submit tax forms, returns, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
  • Assist in budget maintenance and analysis, preparing periodic reports comparing budgeted and actual costs.
  • Process payroll information accurately.
  • Enter financial data into the agency's database.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • While the role is primarily sedentary, it involves occasional filing, typing, and walking. Tasks may include lifting files, opening filing cabinets, bending, standing, or typing as needed.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:


TRAVEL:


  • Local travel during business hours is expected, with potential for outofarea and outofstate travel as needed.

EDUCATIONAL:


  • Associate degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS:


  • Proficiency in computer software packages (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), with advanced skills in Excel preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Products, Google Office products, and bonus skills (SSOP, HHS Accelerator).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional problemsolving capability with the capacity to meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
  • High organizational and detailoriented aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity and understanding of confidentiality.

  • Mandated Reporter.

BACKGROUND VERIFICATION and CLEARANCE:


  • Credential Verification.
  • State Central Registry Clearance.
  • Justice Center clearance (SEL).

  • Valid Driver's license.

Salary:

$55,000.00-$60,000.00
