    The City of Independence is seeking an Economic Development Planning Specialist to join the City's Economic Development team in managing a number of the City's physical land use planning projects; serve as an advisor to the City's boards, commissions and city council relating to physical planning.

    As an Economic Development Planning Specialist at The City of Independence Ohio, you will play a critical role in shaping the economic landscape of the city.

    This position is on-site at the office were the successful candidate will work closely with the Economic Development Director, you will assist in the strategic planning, design, and coordination of economic development initiatives.

    As the Economic Development Specialist this position leads the City's GIS efforts.

    From providing technical assistance to businesses and the public to supporting marketing efforts and maintaining crucial databases, your work will have a direct impact on the growth and success of Independence, Ohio.

    To excel in the role of Economic Development Planner at The City of Independence Ohio, candidates must possess considerable professional experience in economic development, communications, marketing, or planning.

    Prior experience in local, regional, or state government is highly valued, along with a proven track record of developing and implementing economic development business retention/expansion and marketing programs.

    Proficiency in various software and tools related to economic development and data analysis is essential for success in this position.
