    SHIPPING & RECEIVING MANAGER

    Dallas, TX

    ****MUST BE LOCAL TO DALLAS-FORT WORTH METRO AREA*****

    Our client is currently looking for a dynamic individual as a Shipping and Receiving Manager for our Warehouse organization. The Shipping and Receiving Manager will be responsible for coordinating the shipment of products to multiple destinations. The successful candidate will have experience managing all aspects of shipping and receiving, including inventory controls and the development of sound and timely shipment strategies. The position requires working knowledge of shipping regulations, the ability to work under stressful conditions and the capacity to work well with others in a diverse team environment.

    Shipping and Receiving Manager Job Responsibilities:

    • Direct all warehouse and distribution services, including off-site facility, receiving, storage and shipping.
    • Receive customer orders.
    • Ensure all shipments are compliant with traffic laws and regulations, in addition to customer requirements.
    • Oversee recruitment and training of warehouse personnel.
    • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.
    • Develop, review and update of the warehouse standard work.
    • Develop and manage warehouse KPI's.
    • Oversee an accurate inventory of warehouse materials.
    • Manage the Weigh Master license.
    • Responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels.
    • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
    • Ensure materials are delivered to sites in a timely manner as per clients' criteria.
    • Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs.
    • Negotiate rates with carriers and oversee schedule pick-ups.
    • Safely performing their job duties
    • Resolve any arising problems or complaints.
    • Optimize forklift experience.
    • Communicating with all levels in a timely manner
    • Continually improve the operation and maintain Good Housekeeping (5S)
    • Act as a member of the facility's leadership team
    • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
    • Perform any other related duties as assigned by management or as the situation dictates.

    Shipping and Receiving Manager Job Requirements:

    • Proven experience as shipping and receiving manager, 7+ years.
    • Solid knowledge of logistics procedures
    • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
    • Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
    • Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Attention to detail.
    • Strong team player
    • Problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports.
    • Working knowledge of logistics and inventory software
    • SAP knowledge preferred.
    • High school diploma; BSc/BA in supply chain, logistics, business administration, transportation or relative field is a definite plus.
