- Patient Care: Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients as needed
- Policies: Follow hospital, nursing division, and departmental policies
- Care Plan: Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to create and document individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations, discharge planning, and patient/family education
- Tests and Procedures: Perform special tests and procedures as directed, ensuring proper consent has been obtained
- Participation: Participate in orientation and train newer personnel
- Emergency Measures: Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse patient developments
- Medical Records: Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information
- Inquiries: Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy
- Medication: Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings
- Environment: Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with Hospitals standards
- Development: Participate in educational programs, attend in-services, meetings, workshops, and other forms of professional development to enhance personal growth
- Patient Safety: Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols; identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk; encourage patient participation in their own care plan by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or seem to not be right
- Patient Centered Med: Adhere to and promote the core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Centered Specialty Practice as applicable
- Program Graduate
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
- Minimum 1 year of directly related experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days of employment
- RN licensure in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement with NM
- Nationally Certified in area of specialization (preferred)
- PALS, TNCC, and/or ENPC certification (preferred)

Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Patient Care will provide direct nursing care to patients within clinical areas (PCU/ICU/ED etc.). The position requires a high level of professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to quality patient care with adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. This is a per diem position that requires a minimum of four shifts per schedule, two weekend shifts per schedule, and one summer and winter holiday. The position may require patient care of individuals from Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.
