    Description

    New Road School of Parlin, a private school for children with disabilities, ages is seeking a highly self-motivated Speech Language Specialist.

    Experience with students with cognitive and developmental disabilities preferred. Must have knowledge of Google Classroom.


    Requirements:

    • NJ Deparment of Education Certification as a Speech Language Specialist
    • Master's Degree in Speech Language from an accredited university
    • Completion of their Certificate of Clinical Competence (C's)

    Job Description:

    • Provides direct service intervention as noted in students' most recent individual educational plan (IEP) with specific goals and objectives.
    • IEP writing as required by school including yearly goals and objectives.
    • Assessment of students using standardized evaluation as requested by administration.
    • Schedule students therapy sessions.
    • Conducts hearing screenings.
    • Maintains daily logs on student progress as well as attendance.
    • Contact parents/guardians through e-mail, phone or letter to discuss any changes in the student's speech program.
    • Prepares progress reports and report card summaries bi-yearly.
    • Completes and approves semi-tracking forms for local sending school districts.
    • Maintains confidentiality and professional protocol.
    • Attains 30 ASHA CEU's every 3 years, 10 per year.
    • Attaints 20 CEU's and submit them at end of the year.
    • Provides Speech Language Therapy in the community (SLE/CBI) to fulfil mandates.
    • Attends all required meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
    • Adheres to health and safety standards; at no time should a student be left unsupervised in a classroom, outside activities or community-based activities.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Director/Principal.

    Job Type:
    Full-Time

    Monday-Friday 8:15 am - 3:15 pm
