Job Summary:
The Director of the Emergency Department is accountable for coordinating and directing Nursing activities in accordance with current standards of practice and all applicable regulatory requirements.
Personnel management and staff development.
The director participates in hospital committee activity as needed, and acts as a liaison between the Emergency Department, Physicians and other Departments.
Serves as Nurse Administrator on-call (as necessary), providing leadership and management to personnel during the off hours.Incumbent will also be responsible for daily core measures monitoring and staff compliance as well as any additional standards and/or collaborative such as but not limited to stroke, sepsis, chest pain.
Patients need care 24/7 and facility employees must be available to provide that care.Employees are to care for patients regardless of the patient's personal characteristics.
Qualifications:
Desirable characteristics include 5 years RN experience, 2 of which were in critical care and 2 of which were in a leadership role.
Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to the patient's needs and to provide care needed as described to in policy and procedure.
