    Full Time Environmental Services (EVS) Operations Manager

    Bishop Gadsden located on James Island, is a not-for-profit, faith-based retirement community, affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Bishop Gadsden is known as the Southeast's leading life care retirement community and is located on 134 acres of lush marshlands and majestic oaks on James Island, SC, just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston

    We are hiring for an EVS Operations Manager who will guide and direct each area of responsibility within the Environmental Services Team in order to maintain a clean, sanitary, odor free, safe, and appealing atmosphere for all who live and work throughout the Bishop Gadsden Community.

    A Typical Day:

    • Provide direction and support to the management team responsible for delivery of services falling within the EVS structure.
    • Foster a healthy environment within EVS by maintaining fairness and consistency, while upholding Bishop Gadsden's standard of excellence.
    • Develop and maintain proactive measures to ensure teams are being accountable in various responsibilities via QA/systems.
    • Implement root cause analysis techniques to develop sustainable customer service strategies, fostering training opportunities for the housekeeping team.
    • Support and oversee payroll aspects including the evaluation of timecards, approval of requested time off, management of overtime hours, and other financial factors impacting the department.
    • Collaborate with Human Resources to onboard new hires, manage transfer statuses, adjust headcount and address employee relations.
    • Conduct employee evaluations to foster development and offer assistance to the EVS management team.
    • Qualify capable and effective personnel when vacant positions open within the department.
    • Train staff within the facility guidelines and community culture.
    • Ensure staff is compliant with departmental and community policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
    • Communicate any work issues that may affect resident's in advance through verbal or written means and accommodate as required.

    What We Need From A Candidate:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred, willing to consider the right combination of experience and training.
    • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, and lift (up to 50 lbs. /-) for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
    • Ability to supervise employees in an effective and efficient manner.
    • Basic computer skill and knowledge.
    • Must have a valid SC driver's license in good standing.
