The Company

Cellino is dedicated to revolutionizing regenerative medicine by customizing human cells. Stem cell therapies have the potential to treat severe illnesses such as Parkinson's, diabetes, and heart disease. However, the current production process faces challenges like manual work, high variability, and expensive costs. Cellino's goal is to enhance global health by offering personalized human cells.

The Role

We are looking for a creative and skilled mechanical engineer specialized in prototyping. Join our R&D team to create cutting-edge functional prototypes for fluidics, liquid handling systems, and mechatronic devices. Collaborate across mechanical engineering, stem cell biology, and machine learning to develop solutions for large-scale cell biology experiments.

Applicants must present a portfolio showcasing their work and share a successful mechanical project they significantly contributed to.

Responsibilities

Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for complex fluidic and mechatronic systems
Produce functional prototypes and manage small-scale production runs
Create testing systems for fluidics and mechatronics
Lead prototyping projects from concept to finalization
Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and precise measurements on prototypes
Handle component sourcing and vendor relationships
Prepare detailed technical documentation, test plans, drawings, and assembly guides

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience
Minimum 3 years of mechanical design and prototyping experience
Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools such as SolidWorks or Onshape
Hands-on experience with CNC machining, 3D printing, and other fabrication techniques
Knowledge of materials selection, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards
Expertise in measurement tools and problem-solving
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills and Background

Understanding of fluidics, liquid handling systems, and mechatronics
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Experience in injection molding
Programming skills in Python (desirable)
Vendor management experience
