    Role and Responsibilities
    1. Shall maintain updated awareness of the school district administrative procedures, organization, policies, regulations, etc.
    2. Shall epitomize the image of professional confidentiality, dependability, efficiency and integrity so necessary of all secretarial staff.
    3. Available for attendance at meetings as requested by the principal.
    4. Schedule distribution of textbooks at beginning of school year and beginning of second semester; collect textbooks at conclusion of school year.
    5. Run overdue notices and attach to report cards.
    6. Collect and process fines for textbooks and library books. Assess and charge rebind fees when necessary. Prepare rebinds at the conclusion of the school year.
    7. Provide library orientation to review check out procedures and use of the online library catalog.
    8. Create and maintain sign-in sheets for individual students who visit the library.
    9. Create a calendar through Follett Destiny to accurately track library book due dates.
    10. Prepare all purchase orders for new or replacement textbooks, library books and other library supplies. Maintain inventory of library supplies. Check in supplies and process invoices upon arrival.
    11. Assist front office staff with end of year purchasing.
    12. Assist with all student functions including but not limited to graduation, promotion ceremony, NHS and NJHS inductions, senior night, new student orientation, parent teacher conferences, Honor Roll ceremonies, class banquets, senior interview day, etc., on an as needed basis.
    13. Enroll new students into the STAR Reading program. Continuously monitor MiStar for changes in student enrollment, and update STAR Reading as necessary.
    14. Monitor students sent to the library for testing, including final exams.
    15. Assist with WIDA testing, including providing technical support when necessary.
    16. Manage copy room and supplies.
    17. Maintain library calendar and/or bulletin boards.
    18. Barcode and process all new books received from vendors.
    19. Monitor students and keep students on task when necessary, assist with login issues, resetting passwords, assist with printing and general computer program use.
    20. Check out/in library books, and shelve books for checkout.
    21. Assist in the front office upon request.
    22. Work closely with the Technology Department to deploy computers and other devices to students and staff members.
    23. Perform any other related duties as assigned by building principal or designee.
    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    Successful completion of district approved clerical assessment.

    Preferred Skills

    Strong computer skills required. Willingness to learn technological advances when necessary.

    Working Schedule and Rate of Pay:

    42 week per year position

    Pay rate as listed in collective bargaining agreement

    New employee starting pay rate $17.76/hour

    PASSING SCORE ON CLERICAL TEST IS REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION FOR THIS POSITION
