Job DescriptionDetroit Hispanic Development Corporation works with a diverse population from Southwest Detroit and the surrounding area to provide a broad range of youth and family services and engage in community organizing around systemic change.
Youth programs provide a creative out-of-school learning environment where children, teens and young adults work with adult staff and mentors to explore their own ideas, develop skills, heal from trauma, and build confidence in themselves through intense inter-personal activities and the use of arts and technology.
Responsibilities:
The Youth Specialist's responsibilities will include working with the Middle School Coordinator to provide programming to children in 5th-9th grades, including life skills, STEAM activities, and other creative program activities during after-school and summer programs; client recruitment, and registration; documentation of program activities; and report writing; attend related meetings and trainings, as well as contribute to the collective services required to run the overall youth programs including transportation and food.
