    Immersion Ultrasonic Technician Level II - Houston, United States - Element Materials Technology

    Overview


    Element has an opportunity for a Non-destructive evaluation (NDE) Trainee or Level II IUT technician for 2nd or 3rd shift.

    In this role, you will perform Immersion Ultrasonic testing using automated UT equipment in our fast-paced NDE lab in accordance with industry and customer specifications.


    Salary Range:
    $20-$30/hour


    Responsibilities

    • Conduct IUT test using ultrasonic equipment to ensure the quality or detect defects in test pieces
    • Set-up, utilize and calibrate IUT test equipment
    • Interpret codes and specifications
    • Clearly and legibly report test results
    • Use approved techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
    • Capability of analyzing C-scan data and A-scan presentations
    • Preform other job-related tasks as needed

    Skills / Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Minimum 80hr UT school certificate meeting element standards
    • Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment required
    • Documented on the job (OJT) hours or a level II certificate from a previous employer required
    • Ability to work day or night shift
    • Ability for possible Travel
    • 2 years of NDE experience in the oil and gas or aerospace industries preferred
    • Ability to work without supervision and be an independent thinker where you will need to make on the spot decisions
    • Ability to work in a team environment and have the ability to collaborate with personnel in order to complete projects on time
