Immersion Ultrasonic Technician Level I - Houston, United States - Element Materials Technology
Description
Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a Non-destructive evaluation (NDE) Trainee or Level II IUT technician for 2nd or 3rd shift.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct IUT test using ultrasonic equipment to ensure the quality or detect defects in test pieces
- Setup, utilize and calibrate IUT test equipment
- Interpret codes and specifications
- Clearly and legibly report test results
- Use approved techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
- Capability of analyzing Cscan data and Ascan presentations
- Preform other jobrelated tasks as needed
Skills / Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 80hr UT school certificate meeting element standards
Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment required
Documented on the job (OJT) hours or a level II certificate from a previous employer required
Ability to work day or night shift
Ability for possible Travel
2 years of NDE experience in the oil and gas or aerospace industries preferred
Ability to work without supervision and be an independent thinker where you will need to make on the spot decisions
Ability to work in a team environment and have the ability to collaborate with personnel in order to complete projects on time
