    Description

    Role Purpose:

    The purpose of this role is to lead the evolution of the Packaging Quality Management System towards world-class performance. This role will interact with the packaging operations and warehouse departments to ensure compliance to HACCP/FSMA requirements.

    The Packaging Quality Specialist is responsible for the validation of incoming packaging raw materials, oversight of the Quality at the Source (QAS) checks performed by packaging operators, tracking of hold beer events, coordination of rework activities to ensure timely disposition of production holds, and continuous process improvement of quality standards and quality inspection practices of routine packaging and rework operations.

    Accountabilities & Impact:

    Incoming Packaging Raw Materials Quality Management

    • Validation of key Quality parameters against Certificates of Analysis and internal standards for inbound packaging raw materials.
    • Tracking and reporting of the Quality scorecard for MAB's Packaging Raw Materials Suppliers.
    • Investigation and tracking of all print graphics and die-line/runnability related Quality incidents.
    • Issuance of Non-Conforming Reports (NCRs) and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to achieve timely resolution and closure.
    • Qualification of new packaging raw materials according to established corporate standards.
    Quality at the Source (QAS) Governance and Oversight
    • Internal auditor for In-bound and Out-bound shipments, both Quality and Food Safety related.
    • Performance of internal audits of QAS checks in the packaging area according to pre-defined schedule.
    • Ensure thorough documentation and proper archival of packaging quality records for timely retrieval when needed.
    • Ensure that all QAS personnel are properly trained and have documented proficiency stating that they are qualified to perform the relevant tests.
    Management of Non-Conforming Product and Rework
    • Tracking of Hold Beer dashboard and timely disposition of production holds.
    • Coordination of rework activities in collaboration with the packaging and warehouse departments.
    • Oversight of Quality Inspection performance by personnel assigned to rework tasks to ensure adherence to MAB Quality standards.
    Skills & Experiences Needed:
    • Strong desire to become a recognized expert in the field of Packaging Quality Management.
    • Associates or bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or business field
    • Solid knowledge of site processes and GMPs/HACCP
    • Experience in a high-speed packaging environment, preferably in the food and beverage sector, is preferred.
    The Food Safety & HACCP Specialist position is well-suited for you if you have/are:
    • Demonstrated capabilities in technical writing and document management.
    • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to company standards and the sustainable adoption of best practices.
    • Ability to process data and other information into clear and concise written and verbal communication.
    • Highly organized and driven to the attainment of personal and departmental objectives.
    Working conditions:
    • Fast-paced and constantly changing work environment.
    • Possible off-shift and weekend/holiday work
    • Analytical Laboratory and Manufacturing Environment with potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles and hazardous chemicals; Noise level varies from quiet to loud; Temperature varies from hot to cold
    • Ability to lift, carrying, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
    • Standing for long periods of time.
