Project Engineer will be the main communication interface between US, Mexico and European affiliates for all material management and procurement activities and will be responsible for ensuring material requisition and purchasing processes adhere to group standards.
Identifies and implements local cost reduction measures for indirect and direct procurement in collaboration with regional commodity managers.Manages local supply shortages and risks and escalates to regional management levelsExecutes measures defined in commodity group strategies and ensures their local implementationResponsible for procurement, projects, and maintenance of assigned commodity groupsResponsible for the preparation of data and analysis of relevant projects internally to management and staffSetup long term slot planning according to regional forecastsSetup and maintain takted flow line including material planningSupport transition to SAP S4HANASupport local MRP and purchasing functions to harmonize with regional standardsEvaluate supplier performance and provide regular feedback to regional commodity managerfluent Spanish, English, and GermanExperienceOne to three years' previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, procurement, or project management in an industrial environment.
Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, strong analytical and conceptual skills, and high self-confidence are a must.
Must be organized, flexible, must take initiative and be able to work independently as well as on a team.Experience with material management, inventory control, SAP, working with lean manufacturing initiatives, and understanding of cost breakdowns is strongly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office programs including PowerPoint, Word and Excel is requiredEducationBachelor's or Associate's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, engineering and/or business or related field, or suitable combination of education and work experience required.
