    COMPANY PAID RELOCATION to South West USA ... Direct 12 person accounting for Major Insurance Company

    Daily, monthly, & quarterly general ledger entries and preparation of quarterly & annual statutory financial statements.

    *
    • Monthly & quarterly general ledger account reconciliations; quarterly and annual statutory financial statements (yellow-book); year end statutory audited financial statements; quarterly statutory financial statement analytics; Responding to inquiries from State insurance departments and regulatory agencies.
    *
    • Ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance.
    *
    • Assisting with Insurance Department State examinations.
    *
    • Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement.

    Executive Responsibilities:
    *
    • Coaching, supervision and development of twelve staff members including two Accounting Managers One overseeing Corporate Accounting and the other overseeing Agency Accounting.
    *
    • Improvement and implementation of policies and operations of systems, budgeting, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
    *
    • Executive and administrative supervision of general ledger maintenance, financial and management reporting, and statutory accounting (Yellow Book) and compliance.
    *
