LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading real estate development company based in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our client's financial operations for a dynamic portfolio of development projects. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days a week in office. It is budgeted for $70,000-$80,000 annual salary.

Staff AccountantResponsibilities:

Set up new development projects in accounting system and perform regular reconciliations
Upload project budgets into the accounting system
Collaborate with project managers to review and provide budget-to-actual cost reports
Oversee cash flow for all development projects
Record, track and reconcile pre-development loans, draw reimbursements and project receivables
Prepare and monitor project Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and reports
Record, track and manage asset management fee and developer fee revenue
Ensure funding receipts are deposited and/or transferred to meet project payment obligations
Record project financial activity from external partners
Set up new legal entities in the accounting system
Record assets and liabilities on the balance sheet
Review closing documents and book inventory, acquisitions, construction loans and/or permanent loans
Reconcile legal entity costs to project costs
Work with finance and legal teams for capital funding
Manage and track land inventory (review and record purchases and sales)
Record and reconcile cash receipts
Verify proper authorization, coding and documentation for payment requests
Request capital contributions and distributions
Review loans, make interest payments and manage maturity dates
Provide monthly financial reports to project managers, finance teams, leadership and ownership

Staff Accountant Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Prior experience in the real estate, construction or property management industries is highly preferred
2+ years of corporate accounting experience
Proficient in accounting principles (GAAP) and practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
