    Job DescriptionBACKGROUND

    Forestdale is a NYC child welfare agency working to prevent child abuse/neglect through parenting, prevention, and foster care services, focusing on low-income and immigrant communities in NYC. Forestdale operates out of three offices to better serve the families of Brooklyn and Queens. We help thousands of families work through complex trauma, parents raise the next amazing generation of children, and youth successfully launch into adulthood.     Job Summary

    The Quality Improvement Specialist will work with the foster care-related programs, ensuring that all regulatory mandates are met as well as identifying areas of improvement, trends, and performance.

    Major responsibilities:

    1. Manage foster care client information in the agency's census tracking system (Asara), including but not limited to entering intakes and movements.
    2. Develop and manage the FTC and Case Conference meeting calendars
    3. Develop and track the FASP, PHR, and PYA submission calendars (prepare monthly calendars; follow-up to ensure timely completion and submission; and track data for monthly reporting)
    4. Track various case planner submissions (e.g., contact log, sibling visits)
    5. Serve as LTS liaison and run borough calendar report
    6. Track and analyze program data to produce internal performance and utilization reports, and provide recommendations for process improvement
    7. Manage the QI and OSI e-mailboxes
    8. Assist program in managing the SIJS list
    9. Run reports from agency and ACS systems (e.g., Asara and Safe Measures) and manage the data therein
    10. Participate in City-wide QI initiatives as appropriate
    11. Collaborate with Best Practice Team to track SBC model fidelity and other conduct other CAP/PIP monitoring as required
    12. Other tasks as assigned

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience with audits and regulatory compliance preferred
    • 1-3 years' experience working child welfare or with providing services to children, youth and families.
    • Skills and competencies including, but not limited to, oral and written communication, program evaluation, analytic methods, and project management.
    • Compliance with:
      1. Required background checks, including: NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse/Maltreatment, NYS Sex Offender Registry, NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services fingerprinting, NYS Justice Center Staff Exclusion List, NYS OMIG Medicaid Exclusion List.
      2. Mandated reporter training.
      3. Applicable provisions of the NYS Education Law with respect to hiring and retaining licensed professionals.

    Salary:

    $50,000 - $65,000
