    Job Title: Technical Support Engineer I - Onsite Position
    Company: Optics Consolidated Manufacturing Center
    Location: Richardson, Texas
    Duration: 12 Months Contract
    Max Pay Range: $22/hr to $26.56/hr on W2


    Job Description:

    The Equipment Engineering Team plays a key role in ensuring the competitiveness of optical components, assemblies, and systems at present and in the future. Responsible for equipment innovation, selection, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products within budget, in a safe environment.

    A position has become available in the Operations R&M (Repair & Maintenance) Team for a Calibration Technical Support Associate.

    The chosen candidate will be actively involved in addressing the factory's equipment requirements by collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams to carry out daily operations effectively.

    Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and adherence to federal guidelines.

    This position reports to the Manager of Operations Repair & Maintenance.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborating with various business functions to address equipment needs and enhance operational efficiency
    • Implementing innovative solutions to improve equipment uptime and process efficiency
    • Supporting installations and upgrades of equipment
    • Conducting tool and equipment calibration in line with industry practices
    • Providing maintenance and support across different factory locations
    • Working alongside a team of experienced technicians to ensure equipment reliability
    • Utilizing engineering documentation for task execution

    Required Skill Set:


    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in tool, instrument, and equipment calibration in a production environment
    • Strong troubleshooting abilities and mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to interpret schematics and written procedures
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills across disciplines


    • Mathematical competence for unit conversions and problem-solving
    • Proficient in calibration procedures and standards
    • Willingness to work flexible shifts when required

    Desired Skills Set:


    • ASQ – CCT (Certified Calibration Technician) or similar certification
    • Proven problem-solving and initiative-taking skills
    • Experience in optical coating and diamond point turning equipment
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Knowledge of the optics industry and multitasking ability in a dynamic environment
    • Team player with flexibility for occasional overtime
