    **Description**

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    The primary responsibility of the Assistant Branch Manager is to provide direction and supervision to branch staff, in an effort to achieve desired member service and sales goals. This position manages daily branch operations, ensuring compliance to Credit Union procedures and standards. The position level (I or II) is determined based on a combination of total branch members, loans and share as well as the incumbents level of experience, skill and expertise.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

    Associates degree in Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience

    Three (3) years banking/credit union experience

    o To include 1 year in a lead or supervisory role **OR**

    High school diploma or equivalent and two (4) years of progressive Vantage West Credit Union experience to include 1 year of lead or supervisory experience

    Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    Requires strong member service skills and demonstrated ability to consistently lead, motivate and develop staff

    Must display professionalism and possess excellent business communication skills (verbal and written)

    Requires strong active listening, problem solving and decision making skills

    Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

    WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

    This job requires they stand or sit for the majority of time and be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    Must comply with and ensure staff adheres to all policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Must be able to obtain license through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS). Must be able to work a flexible schedule Monday through Saturday as needed

    MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS:

    1. Manages daily branch operations and ensures employee functions and transactions are accurate, timely, and efficient. Schedules branch staffing.

    2. Conducts performance evaluations and creates development plans for branch staff.

    3. Mentors employees by providing feedback and action plans on their performance toward sales and service goals.

    4. Supports credit union member service objectives and achieves sales goals by ensuring staff is actively cross-selling and referring products and services to members.

    5. Provides leadership to department staff. Observes and coaches teams on the proper behaviors, sales techniques, service expectations and compliance guidelines.

    6. Ensures staff maintains comprehensive, current knowledge of products and services through completion of all required training and updates.

    7. Provides high level service to Credit Union members and associates. Maintains a professional work environment and appearance.

    8. Ensures branch compliance through monitoring, tracking, and completing appropriate transaction reports, transaction logs and security records and reports all suspicious activity to the appropriate department. Maintains and regularly reviews the controls over negotiable items, asset inventory, security procedures, etc.

    9. Resolves difficult member service situations, builds strong member relationships and ensures member satisfaction through proactive problem resolution.

    10. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Salary Range: $48,709-$63,931. Job Grade 11, Exempt. Final salary is dependent on a candidates experience and qualifications.
