Job OverviewThe
Program Manager ,
a key member of the Academic Operations department, ensures the successful management of various administrative practices for degree seeking programs at the School of Continuing Studies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide key support to students through onboarding to registration in the first semester of matriculation at the School of Continuing Studies, employing administrative practices to encourage students to accept enrollment and register in their first semester
Administer the operational responsibility that facilitates administration for academic programs, which includes support in academic course scheduling, and the development and management of a communications strategy for academic programs within their cluster
Collaborate with program staff and faculty when supporting student initiatives, which include oversight and management of the event creation process for the cluster and the department - for example, ideation, logistics, catering, and coordination with the SCS Events Team.
The Program Manager no supervisory responsibilities.Work Interactions
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Business and Management Program, the
Program Manager
interacts with the
Assistant and Associate Deans and Faculty Directors
to design, develop course schedules, student advising structures, student experience events, and beyond.
Other interactions include but are not limited to:
SCS Academic Operations
- strategies for operational initiatives focused on student experience
SCS Enrollment Management
- goals, strategies, processes and issues that arise; and collaborate on
specific enrollment issues involving courses or programs
SCS Events Team
- various academic, professional, and social events
Faculty, Staff, Students
- communication and service strategy with faculty and students within the academic programs
As well, the Program Manager joins all SCS employees in supporting Tropaia and Commencement.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
At least 3 years of administrative experience – preference for Student Affairs
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Strong writing and communication skills, including comfort with public presentations to a wide range of audiences
Ability to work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment with all levels of professional, technical and administrative staff - and to integrate resources on a timely and organized basis
Demonstrated expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Commitment to the mission of the School of Continuing Studies, and the vision of the Dean
A sense of humor and a desire to work with a variety of people in expanding the work of the SCS
Fluency in all Microsoft office products
