The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Joe R.
& Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, at UT Health San Antonio is seeking an academic faculty member at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to join the clinical service.
Qualified individuals will have completed an approved microsurgery fellowship, must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and be able to obtain or already have a full Texas medical license.
In South Texas, the Division is a busy elective group practice offering services in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery with a strong focus on patient experience and clinical quality outcomes.
Faculty operate at University Health, which is a Level 1 Trauma Center and operate at multiple hospital systems including Christus and Methodist Health systems.
Hand surgery call and craniofacial trauma call are at UH.The Division is hiring due to growth as well as the need to staff new facilities including the Multi- Specialty Research Hospital.
The incoming candidate will share duties equally across work sites for variety. Due to MSRH having an oncologic focus, plastic surgery anticipates cases in oncology, cancer reconstructive work and some elective/cosmetics. The practice provides midlevel support and faculty participate in medical student and resident education and training at all locations.
