    Strength Through Diversity

Ground breaking science. Advancing medicine. Healing made personal.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Reports to:
Director, Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center

    Primary Purpose:

The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center ("MSAHC" or the "Center") works to break down racial/ethnic, social, and economic barriers to health care and wellness for young people by providing vital services - high quality, comprehensive, integrated, and confidential - for all who come to the Center or school-based health facilities, at no cost to them.

The MSAHC advances adolescent and young adult health as a national imperative by serving as a leading center of clinical care, specialized training, innovative research, and advocacy.

The primary responsibility of the postdoctoral fellow will be to collaborate with the various members of the research team, clinical team, technical assistance team, and the Director concerning resilience research in, primarily adolescents and young adults of color.

Fellows will also collaborate on a large NIH funded longitudinal study of adolescent and young adult patients with repeated collection of behavioral and psychosocial questionnaires and biospecimens.

Activities may include implementation and quality improvement activities and participation in data collection, data management, data analysis, grant writing, manuscript development, and conference presentations.

The postdoctoral fellow will also have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to research and promote health and resilience among adolescents and young adults.

Center team members include adolescent health physicians, psychologists, nutritionists, and epidemiologists.

Fellows will have access to exceptional resources to facilitate the conduct of their own research including opportunities to publish and assist with grant-writing or project planning for the next stage of their research careers.

The initial appointment will be for one year, with the potential for funding to be extended an additional year. Decisions regarding Fellowship extensions will be based on active engagement, scholarly productivity, and mid-year and year-end progress reports.

The position provides salary and benefits consistent with NIH postdoctoral fellows and a discretionary fund to support training development goals.

    Requirements:

A doctoral level degree with strengths in quantitative science in such fields as psychology, public health, implementation science, behavioral sciences, medicine, or related field is sought after.

Applicants should also have some graduate training in applied statistics and demonstrated expertise in the biostatistical analysis of longitudinal or repeated measures data.

Applicants will be expected to work independently utilizing resources at MSAHC, collaborators, and other experts in this domain. Fellowships are open to eligible US citizens and international applicants. Women, minorities, and individuals with a disability are encouraged to apply. This fellowship is a hybrid position that requires onsite work at MSAHC.
