New Lenox Public Library is looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, organized, and resourceful self-starter to join our Library team.

This marketing role is integral to building awareness of library services in our community and supporting staff with unique print and digital content, including social media.

How You'll Contribute:


The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing the marketing plan to support library strategic goals and initiatives by heightening community awareness, understanding, and engagement with library offerings
  • Overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of library marketing and communication including brand guidelines, branded items for staff, content strategy, digital and print publicity, and inlibrary wayfinding and signage
  • Understanding fundamentals of various content management systems for website maintenance, updating text, images, and documents on the website
  • Monitoring the creation and publishing of media for digital programming and assessing engagement statistics
  • Coordinating, managing and maintaining the library's virtual presence on social media
  • Strategizing with staff to provide graphic design and marketing support
  • Demonstrating creativity, initiative, and ability to work independently to achieve personal, department, library focused goals
  • Collaborating with Library leadership on organizational development and strategic planning
  • Overseeing budget for design and marketing activities
  • Actively seeking out grant opportunities
  • Performing other related duties as required

Requirements include:


  • Requires an Associate Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or other related fields with one year experience working in the field
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or similar degree preferred
  • Experience in the design and development of informationheavy print work, digital media, video editing, website development and content management systems
  • Selfstarter who takes direction well but also able to work independently
  • Strong communication skills when working with community, Library personnel, and vendors
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and know how to identify solutions using a wide breadth of resources
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft and Apple computer systems
  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HTML and CSS; Drupal experience preferred
  • Access to transportation and ability to travel

This full-time, non-exempt managerial position is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week and will report to the Executive Director.
