    Job Description:

    30% Serve as the chief advancement officer for the ULS and lead the schools through successful appeals and campaigns; Advise the Director concerning philanthropic initiatives and opportunities; Provide executive leadership for the LSU Laboratory School Foundation by directing and managing, and overseeing the recruitment, management, development, and retention of board members for the Board of Directors.

    20% Administer the recruitment, management, development, and retention of talented staff members; and foster a culture of teamwork, mentoring mutual support and respect among staff and volunteers; Provide strategic plans and oversight for over ten annual events and the annual appeal; Create and direct new initiatives, such as: the U-High Alumni Association; Supervise the sale of ULS Foundation related merchandise.

    10% Expected to lead by example, carry a portfolio of significant major and principal gift prospects and be available to advise the Director other advancement officers on gift strategy and negotiating techniques for the ULS. Develop and oversee all stewardship including naming opportunities for the Lab School. Create strong, collaborative relationships with volunteers to increase their involvement and effectiveness in fundraising, and assist with training and development for them.

    10%Govern and manage the distribution of all development funds within the Laboratory School, maintain and report on all requests for funding; Oversee all miscellaneous club fundraisers with the Lab School. Maintain collaborative, supportive relationships with the heads of other campus entities engaged In philanthropic activities

    10% Represent the Lab School to a broad range of internal and external constituencies; Provide oversight and direction regarding budget/staffing/operations, including the compiling and presentation of financial reports; Oversee the production and story lines for the ULS publications. Manages the overall strategic vision of the development office; manages and coaches the development officers toward strategic major gift activity.

    10% Works with the Advancement Services staff to track and plan identification of, cultivation of. and contact with donor prospects; Collaborates with the Corporate and Foundation Relations office; Assists with the management and recordkeeping of the Lab School fundraising effort, Including campaign planning and financial reporting.

    5% Assists in the communication and the coordination of activities with fundraising agencies, including the LSU Foundation, LSU Alumni Association, Tiger Athletic Foundation offices, and outside parties; Expected to handle sensitive matters that may Involve personal or political affairs. Works Collaboratively with the Office of Communication and University Relations and adheres to the standards set therein.

    5 % Other:
    Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Executive Director.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Sales/Marketing or related curriculum, or a CFRE;

    Seven plus years of related experience.

    Senior Director of Development -University Laboratory School

    Senior Director of Development -University Laboratory School The Senior Director of Development for ULS will assist in cultivating and soliciting prospective donors with the potential to contribute major gifts aimed at meeting the strategic goals of ULS.

    Also, provide executive leadership to ULS foundation board and manage a growing team of development professionals that will support the ULS foundation's mission and achieve the objectives.
