    Administration - CC - Director of Development


    Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, one of the Baton Rouge area's largest integrated social service providers is seeking an innovative, proven leader as Director of Development & Grants.

    This position develops and executes strategies that result in securing financial and community resources that enhance the agency's ability to grow and sustain its programs and services.

    The Director oversees those activities that support fund raising, volunteer recruitment, community engagement and awareness. The director develops and sustains relationships with donors and grant-making organizations and coordinates the submission and administration of grants.

    This position also develops communication strategies and coordinates activities that increase awareness of the agency as a trusted leader in serving vulnerable populations of the Diocese of Baton Rouge.

    This position requires maintaining external relationships and representing the agency to the public, as such it requires a polished business-like demeanor and professional appearance, which excludes unnatural hair color, conspicuous body art and facial piercings.

    Minimum Qualifications:


    Bachelor's degree in a related field and three or more years of experience in non-profit fund raising, donor management, and grant research/writing.

    Excellent writing skills and the ability to translate program data and outcomes into compelling stories.

    Completion of background checks such as driving record, criminal record, and sex offense registry, state and local police records, or national sources such as FBI and E-Verify as required by funding agencies or determined necessary by Catholic Charities and results must be satisfactory to CCDBR, its representatives, employees, or agents as an essential requirement of employment.

    Valid Driver's license and current proof of insurance required.

    Other Qualifications:
    Computer proficiency, particularly in MS Word, Excel, Grant Hub or similar software, and online
    Knowledge of grant research and application processes
    Knowledge of government and non-government grant programs
    Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
    Ability to take initiative, work independently, and use innovative techniques to prepare grant applications.
    Ability to organize complex tasks, delegate responsibility and monitor accountability.
    Understands team dynamics and can work as part of a diverse team.
    Highly developed interpersonal skills and communicates effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and external partners.
    Inclined toward mentorship and teaching to improve the knowledge and professional ability of others.

    Physical Demands:
    Frequent sitting, standing, walking, speaking, reading, writing, typing, and seeing up to 8 hours per day. Occasionally carrying / lifting to 30 lbs., reaching above shoulder level, bending, and gripping/grasping. Frequent repetitive movement of upper/lower extremities.
    This position at a minimum requires office presence during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and occasional assignments on weekends and after hours may be required.
    Work is generally performed in an office environment, with standard office equipment. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust etc.

    When the agency responds to disasters, performing duties outside primary job responsibilities both in the office and at off-site locations may be requested.
