    About Our Client

    Our client for the President/CEO and Board Member opportunity is a manufacturer and supplier for specialty vehicles servicing customers in military, defense, commercial, municipal, response, and other similar markets. Their main focus is with military and defense programs and looking to triple in size.

    The President/CEO and Board Member will lead the US Entity and be responsible for the strategic leadership guiding the organization through an exciting growth and expansion phase. The President/CEO will report to the Board of Directors and drive a company that has DOD Security Clearance. The President/CEO will be a member of the US Government Securities Committee responsibility for all compliance activities related to the Special Security Agreement. This client is a contract manufacturer specializing in the defense and military industrial applications and is ISO 9001 certified. The role is based in Western Michigan, non-local candidates will be required to relocation. Relocation assistance will be provided.

    Job Description

    • Develop and execute a multi-year business strategy aligned with the company's vision, mission, and objectives.
    • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships, and business ventures to drive growth.
    • P&L responsibility, implementing cost effective strategies and operational strategies to maximize profitability while ensuring financial health stability for the organization
    • Lead Commercial Business Development activities with the US government and DOD to expand customer base and secure new contracts
    • Develop annual operating budget, forecasts, and leading quarterly reviews
    • Develop, maintain, and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and other strategic partners
    • Drive leadership team in a positive and collaborative approach focusing on a team based culture
    • Work with HR to continue to recruit, develop and retain talent within the organization at all levels including the executive leadership team
    • Obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance, ensure standards are set and met for ethical behavior throughout the organization, and ensure risk mitigation strategies to protect the company's interest
    • Responsible for the Sr. Management Official of the NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual)
    • Lead advisor on various strategic topics including M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions)
    • Ensure operations processes are sustainable driving process improvement while meeting quality standards
    • Ensure new product introduction launch process is efficient, scalable, and repeatable
    • Assess and make suggestion on technology and equipment improvements to increase productivity
    • Partner closely with R&D and Engineering to ensure design for manufacture
    • Ensure application of ISO and IATF standards internal and external
    • Ensure team is properly staffed and continue to improve strength of talent within department

    The Successful Applicant

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or related
    • MBA or Masters degree preferred
    • 15-20 years of experience industrial - automotive, military/defense, commercial vehicles, contracting manufacturing or related
    • Must have experience defense sector
    • 5 years of experience in Sr. Leadership role responsible for a P&L
    • Strong financial acumen in required
    • Proven background and experience driving business development securing high value contracts, with a sales and commercial background
    • Ability to be strategic while also being hands on and tactical when required
    • Ability to work with all levels of management and team members internal and external
    • Prior experience working closely with the Board of Directors and/or sitting on the Board of Directors
    • Prior experience working with a foreign entity is highly preferred
    • Active US Security Clearance is highly preferred, ability to obtain is required
    • Strong knowledge of US Security Regulations, ITAR, EAR (Export Administration Regulations), US Government Defense Acquisition process, Critical Unclassified Information (CUI)
    • Experience with NISPOM Foreign Ownership, Control, and Influence (FOCI), with either a Special Security or Proxy Agreement preferred
    • Business minded and strong teamwork
    • Strong communication skills, time management skills, and a customer focused mindset.
    • Fluent in English is required
    • Strong understanding and formal training in Lean, Six Sigma, Green or Black certifications preferred
    • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
    • Ability to travel 25-35% domestically and globally

    What's on Offer

    Competitive base salary - $300,000 - $385,000 depending on experience, bonus, full benefits, 401K, vacation, holidays, relocation assistance if needed. Member of the Board of Directors.
