- Maintain daily communication with operations.
- Makes decisions based on sound engineering and quality principles. Is competent and aware of engineering and quality standards
- Identify, analyze, and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment-related problems to continuously improve key business metrics
- Scope, order, and assure proper implementation of new processes & equipment.
- Quote, develop processing standards, and assist in new product launches.
- Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as technical resource for the department.
- Direct cross-functional process improvement projects with the assistance of operations, maintenance, and controls team members
- Provide a critical link between the department and other process partners in areas such as product design, assembly, paint, maintenance, safety, quality, etc.
- Implement cost-saving projects and special assignments as required.
- Conducts scheduled product audits, records results, and drives action to resolve issues highlighted during the audits
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable facet of engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical)
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience in an engineering role (such as Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, Process Engineer, etc.)
- Paint and/or powder coating experience preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and mechanical problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of lean principles and the ability to apply them in order to establish and/or improve processes
- Working knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader and interact at all layers within the organization
- Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a good understanding of plant operations
- Solid decision-making and judgment skills
- Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks

General Purpose
You will serve as a project leader and technical resource, directly supporting multiple powder coating lines as a critical link in a vertically integrated metal fabrication and assembly environment. While mentoring other engineering colleagues and technical operations team members, you will also work to implement projects of varying scope, making a positive impact on key business metrics.
