Description
The Manager of Data Analytics is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the design and execution of data-driven strategies. This individual will be a member of the IT Leadership Team and day-to-day will manage a team of developers and data analysts to collect, process, and interpret complex data sets, turning insights into actionable business decisions. They will work closely with various departments to understand their data needs and implement analytics solutions that drive efficiency and growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics, data analysis, and project management, with a proven ability to translate data into meaningful information that can influence strategic decision-making. They should also possess excellent communication skills to effectively present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The Manager of Data Analytics should ideally have the following key experiences:
Application and Business Reporting: Experience in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting financial and operational business reports including financial, operational, commercial, and sales and delivery applications.
Data Analysis: Extensive experience in analyzing large, complex data sets and converting them into insights that drive business decisions.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing a team of data analysts or scientists. This includes mentoring, guiding, and fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
Strategic Thinking: Experience in developing and implementing data-driven strategies that align with the company's objectives.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, and experience with development tools like Business Objects and Crystal Reports is necessary. Data visualization with Power BI or similar tool is required, and experience in data warehousing technologies such as Azure or Snowflake will provide the necessary technical foundation.
Project Management: Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently, including both Agile & Waterfall methodologies, with a track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to present complex data in a clear and actionable manner.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in the Oil and Gas business is beneficial.
