    The Portfolio Implementation Team ("PIT") is responsible for equity trade order entry for Dodge & Cox separately managed equity and balanced accounts. The Portfolio Implementation Associate will focus on trade order entry in institutional tax-exempt separate accounts and will provide back-up support for taxable separate accounts. The PIT collaborates closely with Client Portfolio Managers, Client Service Associates, traders, investment professionals and other operational and client facing groups throughout the firm to implement Dodge & Cox strategies on behalf of clients.

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Implementing policy decisions via trade order entry in separately managed, tax-exempt client accounts. Portfolios will be managed across Dodge & Cox's domestic, international, and global equity strategies.
    • Overseeing account cash levels and meeting client incoming/outgoing cash directives via trade order entry.
    • Reviewing portfolios to ensure compliance with client account investment guidelines and/or restrictions.
    • Collaborating with Client Portfolio Managers, Client Service Associates, traders, investment professionals and the Operations team to execute the appropriate portfolio management decisions across client accounts.
    • Facilitating the due diligence and implementation of unique portfolio management scenarios, including, but not limited to in-kind transfers, account opening/closing, asset allocation adjustments, security compensation and corporate action events.
    • Producing and communicating ad hoc portfolio implementation analytics, characteristics, and attribution for separate accounts and/or the Dodge & Cox funds.
    Dodge & Cox targets candidates with high levels of academic and professional achievement and leadership ability.

    Candidates for this role should have:
    • A minimum of two years of related work experience
    • B.A or B.S. degree with a strong academic record
    • Compatibility in a highly collegial and collaborative environment. Traits should include an ability to thrive in team settings, a client-first attitude, high professional standards, and unquestionable integrity
    • A growth-oriented mindset with the motivation to master and enhance Dodge & Cox's portfolio implementation methods
    • Proficient knowledge of investment management, securities markets, and compliance regulations
    • Experience with portfolio implementation/management and/or mutual funds preferred
    • Excellent communication, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational habits
    • Propensity to build, follow and improve team processes and best practices
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Strong Excel skills with the ability to interpret and present data in a clear manner
    • CFA charter holder/candidate preferred
    The salary range for this position is $140k - $180k.

    The listed pay scale denotes only the pay range of the base salary and does not include discretionary bonus compensation, which may make up an important portion of the total remuneration. Dodge & Cox encourages applicants to consider the value of the many competitive benefits it offers, including coverage of 100% of all healthcare premiums for employees and their families and fully funding a retirement plan at 25% of the total compensation to the IRS limit. The listed pay scale reflects the base salary Dodge & Cox reasonably expects to pay for this position and is not a reflection of the highest and lowest base salary of any current Dodge & Cox employee. Actual base salary will be based on factors such as the candidate's prior relevant experience (including within and external to Dodge & Cox, as applicable), education, skills, and knowledge.
