Metallurgy and Product Development Specialist /

Engineer for Metallurgy and Materials Science (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities:


  • Supervision of supplier qualification and/or new materials
  • Technical customer consultation on metallurgical application aspects
  • Troubleshooting and elimination of current sources of errors, as well as conducting postmortem and failure analyses
  • Execution of development projects with a focus on "aluminum and aluminum alloys" in collaboration with internal and external laboratories, research centers, and the central R&D organization
  • Creation and definition of new test plans for incoming inspection, inprocess control, final inspection (SPC), and sustainable holistic process design
  • Coordination of test methods in consultation with suppliers, customers, and authorities, e.g. FDA, CFDA
  • Internal auditing and auditing of raw material suppliers and customers, as well as support for customer audits
  • Special tasks/projects

What you bring:


  • Degree in metallurgy and materials science (Master's or Dipl.
Ing.) or equivalent

  • First professional experience in the production or processing of aluminum or other metals
  • Professional experience with aluminum rolled products (coils, sheets, foil, etc.) would be advantageous
  • Structured, problemsolving, and proactive work style
  • Ability for analytical thinking and selfstudy in new topics
  • Proficient in German and English, both written and spoken, and able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Good knowledge of IT
