    Description

    Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including but not limited to, general ledger reconciliation, financial statement preparation, budgeting, and financial analysis. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    General Ledger Maintenance:

    • Record and reconcile daily transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
    • Maintain and update general ledger accounts, including posting journal entries and adjusting entries as necessary.
    • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities in compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Analyze financial data and variances to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support strategic decision-making.

    Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, payments, and customer receipts.
    • Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with vendors and suppliers as needed.
    • Monitor aging reports, follow up on overdue invoices, and manage collections activities to ensure timely payment and cash flow management.

    Compliance and Audit Support:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal controls.
    • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audits.
    • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with audit requirements and best practices.

    Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls.
    • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to optimize workflow and data management.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is a plus.
    • 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and analysis.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
