    General Summary of Position Medstar\rWashington Hospital Center seeking a Senior Director Supply Chain Management.\rThis role administers and directs day to day 24/7 operations of various supply\rchain operating departments, including Central Inventory/Distribution (MSR),\rPerioperative Inventory and Cath Lab and EP Inventory Management, Mail Room\rServices, Offsite Warehouse Operations, Fleet Management, Shipping and\rReceiving Operations.

    Is responsible and accountable for the operational,\rpersonnel, and financial activities of these departments. Management of\rcontracted services such as product recalls, shredding services, water\rmanagement and vendor management. Ensures appropriate departmental coordination\rto provide efficient, effective, and timely services.


    Job duties:


    Directs and\r manages the operational activities of Central Inventory/Distribution\r (MSR), Perioperative Inventory Management, Cath Lab and EP Inventory\r Management, Mail Room Services, Offsite Warehouse Operations, Fleet\r Management, Shipping and Receiving Operations.

    Coordinates the\r departments' operations to ensure maximum effectiveness and quality of\r services. Ensures operating policies and procedures result in effective,\r efficient, and timely services.
    Develops and\r implements appropriate operating goals and objectives to maximize customer\r service, efficiency, cost savings, and productivity.
    Develops,\r administers, and monitors operating and capital budgets for assigned\r departments. Identifies and provides leadership in cost savings\r initiatives.

    Manages accounts value inventory .Develops,\r implements, and updates systems for the physical plant configuration,\r materials receiving and distribution workload management.

    Ensures\r effective distribution system for supply and linen deliveries to maximize\r efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with customer needs and delivery\r schedules.

    Utilizes\r Materials Management Information Systems(MMIS) People Soft (PS) to provide\r comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis of departmental\r functions and services; serves as system resource to establish criteria\r and methodologies for data gathering and sets-up/maintains all appropriate\r documentation.

    Develops and manages the preparation of statistical\r measurements of operations. Submits ad hoc and periodic reports, with\r analysis and recommendation(s).

    Assumes overall\r responsibility, directly or through delegation to other management staff,\r for the personnel management of assigned departments to include, but not\r limited to:
    interviewing, hiring, scheduling, counseling, evaluating,\r promoting, reprimanding, and terminating employees.
    Assumes overall\r responsibility for the training, education, development, and orientation\r of hospital personnel in assigned departments. Establishes and monitors\r employee performance standards and directs compliance with such standards.
    Formulates,\r recommends, and implements quality control and quality improvement\r (QA/QI/PI) initiatives.
    Ensures\r compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.

    Maintains\r current knowledge of Supply Chain practices and innovations, industry,\r technical and business developments through actively maintaining needed\r certifications and memberships in professional associations and conference\r participation.

    Communicates relevant information to the work group.

    QualificationsBachelor's\r degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar\r field of study RequiredMaster's degree\r in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field of\r study Preferred5-7 years of\r progressively more responsible job related experience, as a Manager or\r Director of Materials Management, preferably in a high volume environment\r Required \r Why MedStar Health?
