    Description
    Brief Description
    Provides technical assistance throughout all phases of the installation for security systems. Prepares, contributes to and/or reviews documentation surrounding requirements, technical design, and process flows. Works with the vendors and badging team to support business needs.

    Detailed DescriptionTroubleshoots installed access control systems, CCTV systems and alarm intrusion systems to determine course of action and direct repair.

    Performs routine to moderate hardware upgrades, installations, preventive maintenance, and testing with respect to physical security systems, including access control, video surveillance systems, intrusion detection, intercoms, and other security systems.

    Assists in the development and maintenance of standards and procedures. Reviews design layouts. Assists Security Systems Manager in preparation of estimates for new and upgraded installations. Oversees vendors in installation of equipment for projects.

    Updates and verifies accuracy of documentation for physical security systems, to include mapping all campus building floor plans to indicate the locations of security devices, readers, cameras and controllers.

    Assists badging staff as needed to ensure all badging requirements are completed timely. Maintains knowledge on all badging software and hardware needed to issue security badges.

    May provide guidance or act as a lead or group leader to badging staff and various technicians in absence of manager.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job RequirementsEducation and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or in a job related field of study.

    Two (2) years of work-related experience in Access Control, preferably with Identiv ICPAM and/or Velocity, Cisco VSOM/SASD and Milestone.


    Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    Demonstrated mechanical aptitude skills:

    Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings, ability to lift materials, ability to operate hand and power tools, ability to operate fleet vehicle in safe manner, valid operator's license, exceptional written and oral communication and exceptional customer service skills.

    Skilled in the use of standard software applications.

    Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.


    Physical/Environmental Requirements:
    Standard office environment. Must be able to visit various off-site locations. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
