About the Radiology Department
The Radiology Department at Austin Health offers a wide range of diagnostic and interventional services at the Austin and Repatriation Hospitals. It also provides satellite imaging services at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. The nature of the work involves extended service hours, and all staff are expected to contribute to covering these hours effectively.
The Austin Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services to inpatients, the Emergency Department, and select outpatient clinics. Services include General X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI, CT scans, Mobile and Theatre imaging, Angiography, Cath Lab procedures, and Interventional techniques. Imaging services are available 24/7 from Emergency Radiology at the Austin campus for ED patients, inpatients, and outpatients. The Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital provides radiology services to remaining outpatient clinics, externally referred patients, and some inpatients. Services here include General X-ray, Ultrasound, CT scans, Fluoroscopy, and more.
The department is dedicated to providing education and training for Medical Imaging Technologists and other team members, as well as actively contributing to research endeavors.
About the Role
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and experienced Medical Imaging Technologists to join our Radiology Department as Grade 1 or Grade 2 Radiographers. The roles are open to both full-time and part-time applicants. Salary classification and progression are in line with industry standards and commensurate with experience. While a relevant postgraduate qualification is beneficial, it is not mandatory. A typical day in this role involves:
