- Collaborating with senior engineers to develop and explore new processes or enhancements to existing processes, tooling, and equipment. Evaluating gaging needs, exploring cost-effective alternatives, and creating quality plans aligned with safety, quality, timeline, and cost goals.
- Examining Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to prepare and update essential documentation as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for closure.
- Applying statistical techniques, tolerance analysis, and process potential studies to ensure new tooling and equipment meet specifications. Crafting and executing corrective measures to rectify non-conforming processes or tooling.
- Managing calibration practices and procedures; guaranteeing that the system and database maintain up-to-date tools and techniques for equipment calibration. Ensuring timely repair of all measurement equipment as necessary.
- Working closely with plant operations and production teams to troubleshoot daily operational issues, identifying root causes and assisting in corrective actions. Actively engaging on the production floor to analyze data on plant operations.
- Establishing data-gathering systems for analysis and reporting of plant operations.
- Overseeing corrective action systems for internal and external failures to address issues promptly and efficiently. Conducting internal and external audits.
- Participating in supplier equipment and part qualification processes to identify and resolve quality issues. Travel may be required to supplier sites, including overnight and international trips.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. (Additional work experience required for every year of education not completed)
- Prior experience in Quality
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation support.
- Physical capabilities to work in a manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 70 pounds.
- Certification like CQE or ASQ
- Proficiency in problem-solving tools such as PDCA or 5Why
- Experience with PPAP
- Proven ability to work independently on projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Skills in interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications using geometric tolerancing.
- Proficiency in mathematics, particularly geometry and trigonometry.
- Capability in using and programming metrology equipment, like Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), with advanced setup techniques.
