    Description
    10,000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR FULL-TIME

    The LPN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders.

    Accurately collect data needed for the appropriate portion of the integrated assessment.
    Observe for, and document changes in patients' appearance, behavior and ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
    Treatment Planning
    Maintain awareness of patients' individualized plan of care including goals and interventions.
    Provide information to the Charge Nurse that assists in the development and revision of the treatment plan.
    Document the treatment plan, nursing interventions and the patient's response to the intervention.
    Milieu Management
    Provide structure and maintains a therapeutic environment in collaboration with the patient and other health care providers.
    Assure patients are adequately oriented to the unit.
    Monitor unit activities and encourages patient participation.
    Act as a role model to promote good health and hygiene skills.

    Assist in structured didactic groups with patients and families and prescribes, delegates and coordinate nursing care to a group of patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

    Education & Licensure (if applicable): Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing or vocational training as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

    Licensed to practice vocational/practical nursing from the State Board of Nursing.

    Experience:

    Minimum one (1) year as a LPN in psychiatric nursing preferred, with six (6) months experience in the specialized area of psychiatry also preferred but not required.

    CPR certification and successful completion of Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
