    The IACP seeks to hire a Project Lead for the Central Region of the Drug Evaluation and Classification (DEC) Program.

    Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Lead will provide technical support for the Association's international Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) programmatic efforts and the DEC Program.

    This position works enterprise-wide with all teams of the Association.

    Job Responsibilities

    Working with IACP staff, project partners, and stakeholders, the Project Lead(s) will:

    Provide programmatic and technical support to all partners in NHTSA Regions 5 – 7 of the United States.

    Regions 5 – 7 are defined as:
    Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Wisconsin, Ontario, and Manitoba
    Monitor and assist to ensure scope of work, promised deliverables, and time frames are met
    Develop, evaluate, revise, and update project materials such as publications, magazine content, online resources, curricula, training materials, guidebooks, educational handouts, timelines, membership / attendee acquisition pieces and fliers
    Identify key partners, agencies, and collaborators in the field; build and manage these partnerships
    Build and sustain relationships with police leaders to enhance project work and understanding of the profession whom we serve
    Coordinate and conduct outreach to law enforcement agencies and criminal justice partners to promote participation in projects and events, gather information, and identify promising practices
    Facilitate meetings, trainings, group discussions, and other events attended by law enforcement, subject matter experts, and criminal justice partners
    Organize and track details of project-related meetings and events including expenditures, logistics, and programmatic information
    Maintain ongoing and effective communication with project team, direct manager, partners, and funding agencies
    Coordinate and conduct educational presentations about the program and its resources; represent the program at events and before relevant groups
    Travel to partner locations to provide assistance to the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST), Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), and DRE programs by providing expertise, consultation, and subject matter technical support
    Track and review reports to assist in determining the effectiveness of trainings, and noting any training curriculum issues requiring correction or investigation
    Maintain, update, and revise law enforcement curricula; review standards and procedures; and participate in the selection of DRE State Coordinators
    Analyze data for trends and project-targeted areas of focus
    Other duties as assigned

    Education

    Currently credentialed as a DRE and DRE instructor and able to maintain certification throughout employment
    Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or relevant field and five years of relevant experience
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other relevant business software

    Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

    Must reside in a state within NHTSA Regions 5 – 7 (listed above) of the United States
    Analytical skills to include ability to troubleshoot problems from multiple perspectives
    Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
    Strong penchant for collaboration and teamwork
    Critical thinking and decision-making skills
    Solid task prioritization, organization, and time management skills, and attention to detail
    Dynamic, flexible, and hardworking
    Excellent attention to detail and ability to finalize products efficiently.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with and knowledge of grant-funded efforts
    Experience with and knowledge of conference management

    Special Conditions and Work Environment

    Access to reliable high-speed internet required
    A minimum of 30% travel will be required based on job responsibilities.
    Work takes place primarily in a remote office environment
    Light lifting, bending, and reaching may be required
    This is a grant funded position for which continuation funding will be sought
