- Health Unit Coordinator or secretarial coursework along with a medical terminology course or experience or equivalent educ/experience
- Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course or equivalent educ/experience
- CNA 2 coursework: Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements

Description
The CNA 2/HUC is a key person within the decentralized nursing unit, who provides overall administrative and technical support in the operation of the unit; collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight, and operation of the unit; and performs CNA II patient care duties.
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
CLERICAL:
Initiates and prioritizes transcription of provider orders. Assembles and maintains patient charts, current forms and results/reports.
COMMUNICATION:
Serves as the hub of all communication for the unit. Displays professional interpersonal skills when communicating with patients, public and staff. Serves as front-line customer service representative.
COORDINATION/
TEAM MEMBER:
In conjunction with Charge Nurse is accountable for the efficient coordination of unit activities, including patient placement; working with other departments to coordinate patient care services; prioritizing and dissemination of information.
PATIENT CARE:
Performs CNA II patient care duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
