- Supervises engineering staff and maintenance organization through affiliative methods such as mentoring and coaching. Also recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate when enforcing Company policies and procedures.
- Manage Process team of engineers and scientists responsible for development, implementation, and continuous improvement of materials manufacturing and equipment and control support
- Improve and maintain processes by developing, validation, change control, process risk management, and root cause investigations.
- Partners with teams within Silfex and external suppliers to develop and implement equipment and programs
- Partners with manufacturing managers/supervisors to identify, develop and implement projects associated with improvement of manufacturing operations; coordinates assignment of engineering resources and facilitates.
- Identifies and recommends equipment, systems, layout, etc. as a result of capacity and/or capability evaluations.
- Directs, coordinates, and monitors installation of new equipment and apparatuses to comply with vendor/manufacturer specifications.
- Develops, recommends, and provides support in the implementation of engineering controls, control plans, control charts, trend charts, and other necessary methods and tools to monitor manufacturing performance.
- Supports manufacturing departments in the effective collection, manipulation, and analysis of data required to establish performance standards for equipment and processes.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work-flow, space requirements and equipment layout.
- Participates in material reviews for new products to establish appropriate manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Compiles engineering project schedules, critical information, etc. and present department status updates to Directors.
- Carries out special projects and all other additional duties as assigned.
- Preferred is a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent; or a minimum of six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required is experience managing or supervising exempt technical staff and directing projects in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Experience with root cause analyses and corrective/preventive actions.
- Required experience with Silicon crystal growth, equipment and technology
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and other process control mechanisms and functions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents, including general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to production personnel and top management
- Ability to utilize SPC software like JMP, Minitab, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Essential Function:
The Senior Manager of CZ Engineering will support operations at two sites in Ohio. This position is for a key technology leader who will manage a high-performing team of engineers and maintenance professionals, specializing in Czochralski (CZ) and DSS Silicon technologies. This person will be accountable for making Process and Manufacturing Engineering as well as CZ Maintenance projects successful by leading CZ team and working cross-functionally with other Silfex organizations and external suppliers. They will also be responsible for working with other Silfex organizations and external suppliers on developing new and sustaining present process technologies, including design, implementation, and optimization of CZ and DSS equipment systems as well as other materials technologies and combined remedies. The key responsibilities include strategic oversight of Silfex materials operating sites with the focus on equipment, processes and manufacturing.
