Description
Tax Strategic Development:
Develop and implement strategic tax plans aligned with the company's goals, investment activities, and risk tolerance, focusing on enhancing tax efficiency and reducing tax liabilities.
Tax Compliance Oversight:
Manage the completion and submission of federal, state, and local tax filings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to tax laws, including partnership and international tax requirements.
Strategic Tax Planning:
Offer strategic guidance on tax planning issues such as entity structures, acquisitions, and dispositions to minimize tax impact and maximize returns.
Comprehensive Tax Reporting:
Coordinate tax provision preparation and financial statement disclosures in compliance with ASC 740, ensuring precise and prompt reporting for financial purposes.
Tax Research and Analysis:
Stay updated on tax law changes, assess their effects on the company's tax stance, and conduct research to determine tax implications and possibilities.
Risk Management:
Identify and manage tax risks in investment activities, develop strategies to reduce risks, and ensure compliance with tax-related obligations and regulations.
Tax Controversy Handling:
Handle tax audits and inquiries, communicate with tax authorities, and represent the company's interests during discussions.
Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional advancement and ensuring effective project execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree in Taxation or CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax roles, with significant experience in tax planning and compliance for investment companies, private equity, or hedge funds.
Deep knowledge of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations, including partnership taxation, investment tax credits, and tax treaties.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex tax issues, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals and senior management.
Proven leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of tax professionals and foster a collaborative work environment.
