- Supervises building maintenance repair and upkeep of the facilities.
- Responsible for managing the maintenance and upkeep of Agency buildings.
- Procures bids needed for repairs on C.A.A. facilities and related facilities equipment.
- Develop and ensure the implementation of a preventative maintenance program for all C.A.A. buildings, and equipment.
- Develop standards for building maintenance and upkeep. Inspects facilities and ensures preventative and/or corrective action is taken to maintain C.A.A. buildings within Health Department and Head Start standards.
- Responsible for all major and minor repairs and maintenance on C.A.A. equipment and buildings.
- Submits weekly maintenance reports to the Housing/Maintenance Division Director or their designee.
- Performs carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting work as required.
- Maintains material safety data sheets for all products used. Ensures that staff maintains materials safety data sheets in vehicles.
- Participates in the hiring/discipline/termination of assigned personnel.
- Responsible for fire drills. Fire extinguisher and general fire protection at all C.A.A. facilities.
- Attends training and maintains Agency and funding source required certifications.
- This position requires frequent travel to offsite locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Housing/ Maintenance Director.
- Associate degree in building trades, or completion of an advanced vocational training course in building trades and four (4) years of paid employment in the construction, maintenance, or repair of buildings.
- The ability to work with people at all levels of command and vendors.
- Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License.
- Possess no non-qualifying physical requirements.

JOB SUMMARY:WORKING CONDITIONS:Conduct work in a moderate-paced environment. The majority of work centers on troubleshooting repair, installation, and maintenance of Agency buildings to provide a safe, comfortable environment. Upper body strength to lift 85 pounds and carry I00 feet and move heavy loads using material handling equipment. Lower body strength to stand/walk throughout the workday. Climb various ladders and scaffolding somewhat frequently relative to other tasks. Ability to frequently stoop, kneel and reach. Local travel to meetings and site work areas. Environmental demands include moderate exposure to weather conditions and various airborne particles of sawdust, insulation, and common dust. Work is performed in limited inaccessible areas frequently. Possible exposure to various supplies containing hazardous materials or chemicals. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
The Community Action Agency of OKC/Oklahoma County was established in 1966, and initially was financed by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, which launched the nation's "War on Poverty." Eventually the funding was consolidated into the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). The Community Services division was implemented early on, serving low-income residents of Oklahoma County. Early programs included implementing the Food Stamp program and offering a nutrition program for seniors at meal centers.Today the division has greatly expanded to offer legal assistance; tax assistance; summer youth programs; senior transportation to meal sites, medical appointments, and shopping; rent and mortgage assistance; and other community needs.HEAD STARTThe Agency's first Head Start center opened its doors to 39 families in 1965. Within two years, nine new centers and 575 children entered Head Start in Oklahoma County. Today we have 26 Head Start classrooms in 15 public schools, and 98 Head Start classrooms total providing services to thousands of children in Oklahoma County.
