SummaryThis position will have oversight of the division's Accounting initiatives and employees directly reporting to this position. This position will be instrumental in day to day accounting activities.

This position will work closely with management in executing the company's annual business plan and its operational strategic initiatives.#MAPEssential FunctionsCoordinate daily accounting (billing, accounts payable, daily cash & treasury, accounts receivable collection) activities and month-end close with internal and parent company staffCompile and submit required monthly journal entries to Parent companyPerform project reconciliation to ensure system billing and cost are in synch with pay applications and inventoryCoordinate with Sales & Project management on resolving and completing open change orders, billing disputes and accounts payable variancesFacilitate Division's Annual Business Plan and its performance to planProvide monthly management reports (i.e.

sales activity, margin analysis) to management teamReconcile physical inventory accounting activitiesCoordinate semi-annual physical inventory process and reportingPerform bank reconciliations monthly; verifying deposits and addressing questions/problemsVerify support schedules to general ledger control accounts.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review sales, cost of goods sold, and expense accounts for accuracy and make corrections as needed.

Maintain petty cash fund and reconcile monthlyCompile and post monthly journal entriesCoordinate monthly and year-end financial closingReview all accounts payable invoices and ensure expenditures are charged to appropriate accountsCompile and submit monthly AP and AR aging reports in correct format to Cook & BoardmanRelease orders on credit hold as neededAssist outside insurance, government & accounting auditorsProcess Returned Merchandise AuthorizationEnsure that accurate sales tax is collected and submitted to the appropriate state(s) agencyDirect, monitor and evaluate the activities and performance of accounting personnel.

Provide back up of all positions as needed and revise procedures as requiredMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance

as a manager of an accounting departmentKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environmentExperience in the construction industry is a plusAdvanced word processing and spreadsheet skillsWell-developed participatory management and administrative skills, with proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnelAbility to work cooperatively with all levels of management, co-workers and subordinatesWell organized with strong analytical and reasoning abilitiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
