    Job Description:

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Health Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in behavioral health nursing and a passion for providing compassionate care to patients with mental health disorders. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with mental health disorders, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention as needed.
    2. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments, treatment goals, and evidence-based practices.
    3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and psychiatrists, ensuring patient safety and adherence to medication protocols.
    4. Conduct therapeutic interventions, including individual and group counseling sessions, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention as needed.
    5. Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
    6. Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and modify care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
    7. Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms and promoting recovery.
    8. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
    9. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
    10. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and program effectiveness.

    Qualifications:

    1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [Insert State].
    2. Minimum of two years of experience in behavioral health nursing required.
    3. Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and therapeutic interventions.
    4. Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
    6. Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and sensitivity to the needs of individuals with mental illness.
    7. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    8. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
    9. BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
    10. Certification in psychiatric-mental health nursing (PMHN) preferred.
