    Description

    Job Summary:

    Leading the health care team, providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process according to established standards, policies, and procedures. Demonstrating performance aligned with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan. Staying adaptable to changes, showcasing quality work habits and clinical practice, and treating colleagues, patients, families, and the whole health care team with dignity.


    Essential Responsibilities:

    The Registered Nurse demonstrates proficiency through:

    • Upholding organizational policies, principles, and laws.
    • Leading the health care team effectively.
    • Understanding and escalating issues as necessary.
    • Exhibiting professional behavior and encouraging innovation.
    • Leading change and communication strategies.
    • Participating in problem-solving and mentoring.
    • Prioritizing tasks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

    Nursing Process:

    • Developing individualized care plans.
    • Ensuring multidisciplinary care planning and education.
    • Adjusting plans based on patient progress.
    • Ensuring safety, medication administration, and patient education.

    Documentation:

    • Maintaining accurate and timely charting.
    • Utilizing computer systems for patient care.

    Clinical Outcomes:

    • Discussing patient progress with the team.
    • Demonstrating competencies and making informed nursing decisions.
    • Participating in performance improvement activities.

    Workplace Safety:

    • Adhering to safety practices.
    • Maintaining a safe environment.

    Patient Care Experience:

    • Providing excellent customer service.
    • Responding promptly to patient needs.
    • Maintaining patient confidentiality.
    • Offering a compassionate patient care experience.

    Team Commitment:

    • Being a flexible and cooperative team member.
    • Handling conflicts constructively.
    • Acting as a mentor and attending professional development activities.

    Fiscal Responsibility:

    • Minimizing overtime and identifying system improvements.
    • Optimizing resources effectively.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Minimum six (6) months of recent acute or sub-acute facility experience.

    Education, License, Certification, Registration:

    • Registered Nurse License (California)
    • Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association

    Additional Requirements:

    • Basic arrhythmia certification required.

    Preferred Qualifications:


    Notes:

    • Works every other weekend.
    • Shift details:
    • - 12-hour shift: 7:00 pm - 7:30 am.
    • - Backup 8-hour shift: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am.
    • Location: West Los Angeles Medical Center, California.
    • Hours per week: 24
    • Shift: Night Shift
    • Workdays: Sunday - Saturday
