    Job Description

    The Associate Director of Development will direct all annual giving outreach by the College of Law, implement all annual giving plans, write all appeals, serve as the team's donor data and giving metrics expert, monitor pledge payments, help direct major giving officer outreach based on giving patterns, create a pipeline of major gift prospects, meet with gift prospects and directly make asks, and help build connections with and make asks to local law firms.

    Qualifications
    Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree a plus.
    5+ years of experience in higher education fundraising or related field.
    Proven track record of success as a fundraiser.
    Job Specific Qualifications

    Preference to candidates with fundraising experience in a law school environment with a focus on annual giving.

    Must have previous experience in higher education in development programs or other alumni facing programs; strong project management, communication, and organizational skills; excellent writing skills; ability to collaborate with multiple constituents; knowledge of Syracuse University preferred.

    Responsibilities

    The Associate Director of Development will implement a comprehensive annual giving program for the College of Law to increase unrestricted/restricted funds and donor participation rate, specifically alumni and create all strategies for annual giving including techniques such as phone calls, coordinated emails, social media, mailings, texting, follow up correspondence, and face-to-face visits.

    The Associate Director will manage a portfolio of future major gift donors as well as leadership annual donors. The Associate Director will develop and implement giving strategies that maximize giving potential of each future major gift prospect.

    The Associate Director will distill and present comprehensive reviews of giving data and donor metrics and make regular presentations to the Advancement Team.

    The Associate Director will monitor pledge payments and major giving primarily during calendar year end and fiscal year end and help direct major gift officers to ensure major gift prospects are receiving appropriate communications that align with giving patterns.

    The Associate Director will help direct major gift prospect strategy development processes with Assistant Dean and development and alumni relations team to establish a path along a continuum of giving, to cultivate, solicit and steward annual givers into a pipeline of major gift prospects; support efforts to plan and implement alumni cultivation events; work with central office regional and gift planning staff to maximize gift potential for the College of Law.
