- Organize, direct, and coordinate daily job functions of the inpatient and outpatient clinical documentation integrity departments.
- Develop and maintain department policies and procedures, productivity standards, and educational and training materials for CDI Specialists.
- Educate providers and other health care professionals on proper documentation practices to accurately reflect the patient's health conditions.
- Maintain a current knowledge of clinical concepts for all body systems to bridge the gap in communication between clinical documentation and coding.
- Maintain a current knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding; including continuous knowledge of quarterly and annual code changes, coding rules and guidelines.
- Conduct ongoing performance assessment of staff competency and provide timely and appropriate feedback
- Enforce the use of physician queries, as appropriate
- Work closely with coding, physicians, other qualified health care providers, clinic staff and other services to assist and/or coordinate in improving clinical documentation.
- Education: High school diploma or GED, required. Bachelor's degree, preferred.
- Licensure and Certifications: RN, BSN, AHIMA credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CDIP or ACDIS credentials CCDS, or CCDS-O
- Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a CDI position, required. Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or management role, required.

Position Summary
The role of the Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager reports to the Director of Revenue Integrity.
